List of passers of the JULY 2009 MARINE DECK OFFICERS LICENSURE EXAMINATION, last name starting with C

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) today reported that only half of the more than 4,000 examinees passed the written phase of the marine deck officers’ licensure examination.

Out of 4,318 examinees, PRC said a total of 2,253 passed the written phase of the licensure examination for various ranks given by the Board for Marine Deck Officers in Manila this month.

PRC added that a total of 245 examinees are exempted from taking the practical examinations as they opted to submit a certificate of training and certificate of assessment in the Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork (SSBT).

The successful examinees who garnered the 10 highest places in the written phase of the master mariner licensure examination are Lowell Cosiba Cababa, of the John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation-Iloilo City, with a rating of 84.60 percent; Antonio Dioquino Cualing Jr., University of the Visayas-Cebu, 82.50 percent; Boyd Javier Lachica, Philippine Maritime Institute-Manila and Rommel Lumio Sison, Aklan Polytechnic Institute, both 82.30 percent; Rafael Abarquez Virtudazo, Davao Merchant Marine Academy, 82.20 percent; Vincent Bual Buhion, PMI-Bohol, 82.10 percent; Kennette Faustino Clavel, John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation-Iloilo City, 81.90 percent; Noel Juarez Camaongay, VMA Global College (Visayan Maritime Academy) and Neil Solon Papa, Misamis Institute of Technology, both 80.20 percent; Raul Del Rosario Chua, PMI-Manila, 79.60 percent; Job Bienvenido Dolendo Espares, Mariners Polytechnic College Foundation-Rawis and Damaso Jr. Coronacion Ruidera, PMI-Manila, both 79.50 percent and Luis Jr. Quiapos Serna, PMI-Manila, 79.20 percent.

For the written phase of the chief mate licensure examination, the top 10 examinees are Renier Taytayon Ebales, of the Namei Polytechnic Institute, 90.40 percent; Jose Jr. Apelanio Bureros, University of Cebu, Jerry Pansoy Cambay, FEATI University and Michiel Patoc Domingo, Philippine Merchant Marine Academy-Zambales, all 86.80; Filomeno Jr. Saranza Gulde, University of Cebu, 86.20; Cesar Habon Gamuyod, PMI-Manila, 86; Ernie Anjao Catalonia, John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation-Bacolod City, 85.80; Danny de los Reyes Demecais, John B. Registration for the issuance of certificate of registration and professional identification cards for those who are exempted from the practical assessment will be from Wednesday, July 22 to Aug. 5.

Those who opted to submit a certificate of assessment in the SSBT will take their oath before the Board on Aug. 19, 1 p.m. at the Fiesta Pavilion of the Manila Hotel.

Registration for membership with the Masters and Mates Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MMAP) will also start on July 22.

Earlier, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported that the government is doubling its efforts to generate more highly skilled Filipino marine officers to fill the projected high demand for such skills abroad.
